300 Days for Mothers: Launching a Substack Series on why mothers still die giving birth in Sierra Leone

The Sierra Leone government has announced 300 Days of Activism to reduce maternal deaths.

But behind every statistic is a woman whose life was cut short.

Today I’m launching a Substack investigative series: “300 Days for Mothers: Confronting Sierra Leone’s Maternal Mortality Crisis.”

The series begins with the story of Annie Sanu, a young mother who entered a hospital alive and never returned home.
