An Open Letter to L.A.J.: Reclaim Freedom & Reject a Paopa Cult Deal

Dear LAJ,

With a heart full of joy and relief, we welcome you back to the world outside those Pademba Road prison walls. And I hope that you are enjoying your freedom in good health and high spirits.

1.1.24 LAJ Outside Pademba Road Prison

Your unjust imprisonment was a dark chapter not only in your personal life but in your family’s and Sierra Leone’s history. Your release is a testament to the power of prayer, unity, the strength of your family and friends, and the unwavering support of your fans. But as you step back into the light of freedom, I implore you to tread carefully and consider the path you choose for your future.

You have experienced firsthand the cruelty and injustice that can occur under the leadership of Julius Maada Bio and his Paopa cabal. Their actions have led to the suffering and loss of innocent lives in Sierra Leone, and you, dear LAJ, were not spared their tyranny.

A corrupt police commissioner, a corrupt president, and a corrupt judge led to the unjust imprisonment of LAJ.

It is crucial to remember that your release was not a benevolent act from Julius Maada Bio and his wife, Fatima Jabbie Bio, but a response to the pressure from the public, your loved ones, and your loyal fans. You were never meant to be in that prison cell in the first place, for the trumped-up charges against you could only be held in the kangaroo court of Sierra Leone.

The past year has been a testament to the power of prayer, advocacy, and the relentless pursuit of justice. If anyone deserves your gratitude, it is your family, especially your father, who was disgraced by the police for checking on your welfare; your brothers and friends who were incarcerated for 9 or 10 months just for checking on your welfare and speaking out for you; and countless fans and individuals who tirelessly campaigned for your freedom.

As we both know, God Almighty is the ultimate source of our blessings, and all glories must be only to Him for answering the prayers of those who stood by you during your darkest hours.

Since your release, we’ve noticed that Mr. and Mrs. Bio seek to take the glory from God. They are trying to take advantage of your situation, expecting you to feel indebted to them. Julius Maada Bio and Fatima Bio may attempt to use your talents for their gain, but remember that these two people are not champions of peace in Sierra Leone. There is much evidence to show how they have contributed to the erosion of peace in our beloved country.

Remember that without justice, true peace cannot prevail. So, instead of singing for “peace” as the Paopa cabal is urging, I implore you to dedicate your voice to the cause of justice and freedom in Sierra Leone. Your God-given talent is a powerful tool, and you can shed light on the injustices that plague our beloved nation in this particular era of the Bio Paopa regime.

Do not allow Mr. and Mrs. Bio and their Paopa cult to manipulate you for their deceptive plea for peace. The absence of peace in Sierra Leone is a result of their divisive rhetoric and numerous atrocities committed by Mr. Bio and his paopa regime. When these injustices end, peace will naturally prevail.

My dear LAJ, your journey has been fraught with hardship and adversity. Yet still, it has also demonstrated the strength of your spirit and the endless love and support surrounding you. Please do not take these blessings for granted. As you move forward, remember your duty is to your country and people. Stand with those who seek justice, equality, and a brighter future for all Sierra Leoneans.

Be the voice of the voiceless and the hope of the oppressed, especially the youth who are languishing in hopelessness. Your voice has the power to inspire change, and we eagerly anticipate the melodies of justice and freedom that you will create.

May God protect you and guide your path with righteousness, and may your songs resonate with the aspirations of a nation yearning for a better tomorrow.

Welcome back, LAJ. Your freedom is a victory for all Sierra Leoneans.

Wishing you strength and courage,

Dr. Fatima Babih
