IS SIERRA LEONE THE WORST PLACE TO BE A GIRL TODAY?

Due to the country’s high maternal mortality rate, somebody once said that “Sierra Leone is the worst place to be a pregnant woman.” Now the high rate of rapes, especially of very young girl children, the country is earning yet another badge for failing its female population.

At least 70% of sexual assault cases in Sierra Leone involve girls below 15 years old. This is no lesser pandemic in Sierra Leone, as the country battles COVID 19 with the rest of the world. Something has got to change!!
